05 February, 2025, Auto Italia, 18:00

Join us on Wednesday 5th February, 6-8PM for ‘Escaping the Ends’ led by Zakiyyah Deen. This discussion and creative workshop will  explore themes of social mobility, community, and identity, focusing on the experiences of those from inner-city and working-class backgrounds. It will reflect on the love and connection many feel for “the ends” while grappling with the challenges of striving for more and navigating the tension between staying rooted and seeking change.

The workshop will focus on two key components:

  1. Conversation, exploring three themes:

– Love for the Ends
– Limits of the Ends
– Escaping the Ends

  1. Creation, where participants will produce a piece of work inspired by these themes.

This workshop invites creatives from all disciplines – actors, writers, musicians, stylists, photographers, visual artists, filmmakers, and more – to share perspectives, connect with others, and express their ideas.

By the end of the session, participants will leave with a personal creative work and a sense of connection with like-minded creatives. The workshop also lays the foundation for a larger creative project, with the opportunity to contribute to a collective publication exploring these themes further.

This workshop is free and will take place at Auto Italia, with basic art supplies and light refreshments provided. If you are an ends expat, resident or lover then this one is for you!
